Going beyond technical compliance — we commit to fair pricing, honest communication, and putting the customer's long-term safety and peace of mind first.

North American Radon Standards & Certification (NARSAC) was created by active radon mitigation professionals who believe certification should serve two groups: installers and the families they protect.
Unlike traditional boards that focus almost exclusively on technical rules and charge annual fees forever, NARSAC is built differently:Standards that matter — practical, results-focused guidelines drawn directly from EPA recommendations and AARST best practices.
No recurring fees — one-time $100 test fee for lifetime certification. No annual dues, no forced continuing education.
Customer service as a core standard — every certified mitigator must follow a written pledge to fair pricing, honest communication, prompt support, and treating customers with respect (see pledge below).Radon mitigation is life-or-death work. Homes deserve safe air, and customers deserve transparency and fairness. NARSAC exists to raise the bar on both.
Every NARSA-certified radon mitigator commits to the following:Provide clear, written estimates before work begins — no hidden fees or surprise charges.
Be completely honest upfront: radon mitigation is custom work, results depend on site conditions, and sometimes additional steps (and costs) are needed to reach safe levels.
Act in good faith — recommend only what is necessary, never pressure or mislead, and refer elsewhere if it better serves the customer.
Respond to concerns or questions within 48 hours.
Conduct a no-charge retest 2–4 weeks after installation to verify performance.
Address any clear installation issues at no extra cost within the first 30 days.
Charge fairly and transparently for any additional work required due to site-specific conditions (e.g., poor sub-slab communication, unexpected entry points).Violation of this pledge may result in revocation of NARSAC certification.
